# Start calling with Trackly

> Set up your account and connect an existing Salesforce dialer for a first headset call.

Keep your Salesforce dialer, its call button and your existing backend. Your
developer connects them to Trackly's calling API and browser headset SDK.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your account">
    [Sign up for Trackly](https://app.tracklysms.com/signup), verify your email
    and sign in. Use your existing account if you already have one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask Trackly to enable your first test">
    Send Trackly your account ID from
    [Voice → Calling setup](https://app.tracklysms.com/voice/calling).
    Trackly enables calling and browser headset access and confirms a caller
    number for your account. We can supply an existing test number; you do not
    need to buy or port numbers to begin.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your business details">
    In Calling setup, select the business that will make calls. Fill in
    **Business details** and save. Your first test does not require buying
    caller-branding or reputation services.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the test arrangement">
    Confirm your assigned caller number, test recipient, calling limits and
    billing arrangement with Trackly. **Phone numbers** and **Billing** show the
    account's setup. Trackly will let you know when your account is ready for a
    test call.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your developer's API key">
    Open [Settings → API Keys](https://app.tracklysms.com/settings/api-keys).
    Create a key with `voice_calls.read` and `voice_calls.write`. Your developer
    stores it in your backend; it must never appear in Salesforce browser code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send your developer the integration guide">
    Share the [Salesforce dialer guide](/api-reference/voice/salesforce).
    It provides the SDK download and the API mapping for replacing the existing
    calling provider. Your users keep working inside your Salesforce dialer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make the first headset call">
    Once Trackly confirms activation and your developer completes the integration,
    connect your headset, allow microphone access and call the agreed test phone
    from Salesforce. Check audio in both directions, mute and hangup before
    expanding the test to more users.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If calling is unavailable or a Voice scope cannot be enabled, send Trackly the
account ID and displayed error. Do not send API keys in chat or screenshots.
